Futebol de Salao is the officially FIFA sanctioned indoor soccer game that began in Brazil. More commonly known as Futsal, it isplayed on a basketball court with 5 players per side. Unlike indoor soccer, Futsal does not use walls for rebounding. This forces greater emphasis on ball control as well as reducing the number of injuries caused by the walls. A special low-bounce ball is used that encourages and develops skilled play. In addition a larger size indoor goal ensures high scoring action.
